Yoga has truly become a global phenomenon, and it’s all thanks to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visionary push. Union Minister of State for Health Prataprao Jadhav recently highlighted how yoga has won hearts worldwide over the past decade. Speaking ahead of the 11th International Yoga Day on June 21, Jadhav credited PM Modi for making yoga a universal celebration.
‘Because of the initiative started by our PM Modi, 21st June is celebrated worldwide as International Yoga Day,’ said Jadhav. ‘In this decade, yoga has reached the hearts of all the people participating.’
The excitement is building, especially with Andhra Pradesh gearing up for record-breaking celebrations. PM Modi himself will join the festivities, where over 2.5 lakh people are expected to perform yoga along Visakhapatnam’s 27-kilometre coastal road. If successful, it could set a new world record.
Earlier, PM Modi praised the enthusiasm around ‘Yogandhra 2025,’ a campaign to popularize yoga in Andhra Pradesh. In a post on X, he encouraged everyone to make yoga a part of their daily lives. The state is already buzzing with events, including a massive session at Puligundu Twin Hills where 2,000 yogis gathered.
With yoga now a global symbol of wellness and unity, it’s amazing to see how far India’s ancient practice has come. And with this year’s grand celebrations, the tradition is only getting stronger. Will you be joining in on the yoga movement?
