The Indian stock market witnessed a strong week as six of the top-10 most-valued companies saw a significant jump in their combined market valuation. The total gain stood at a staggering Rs 1,62,288.06 crore, with Bharti Airtel and Reliance Industries leading the charge. This surge came alongside a bullish trend in equities, with the BSE benchmark index climbing 1,289.57 points, or 1.58 percent.

Bharti Airtel emerged as one of the biggest winners, with its market valuation soaring by Rs 54,055.96 crore to reach Rs 11,04,469.29 crore. Not far behind was Reliance Industries, which added Rs 50,070.14 crore, taking its total market cap to Rs 19,82,033.60 crore. These gains highlight the strong investor confidence in these telecom and conglomerate giants.

HDFC Bank also enjoyed a solid week, with its valuation jumping by Rs 38,503.91 crore to Rs 15,07,281.79 crore. Infosys, another heavyweight, saw an increase of Rs 8,433.06 crore, reaching Rs 6,73,751.09 crore. The banking sector remained robust, with ICICI Bank climbing Rs 8,012.13 crore to Rs 10,18,387.76 crore and State Bank of India gaining Rs 3,212.86 crore to settle at Rs 7,10,399.75 crore.

However, not all top firms shared in the gains. Bajaj Finance took a hit, with its market cap dropping by Rs 17,876.42 crore to Rs 5,62,175.67 crore. TCS also faced a minor decline, losing Rs 4,613.06 crore to end at Rs 12,42,577.89 crore. Hindustan Unilever saw a dip of Rs 3,336.42 crore, landing at Rs 5,41,557.29 crore, while LIC’s valuation slipped by Rs 1,106.88 crore to Rs 5,92,272.78 crore.

Despite these setbacks, the pecking order among the top-10 firms remained unchanged. Reliance Industries held onto its crown as the most-valued company, followed by HDFC Bank, TCS, Bharti Airtel, ICICI Bank, State Bank of India, Infosys, LIC, Bajaj Finance, and Hindustan Unilever.

The week’s performance underscores the dynamic nature of the stock market, where gains and losses are part of the everyday hustle. For investors, keeping an eye on these market cap movements can provide valuable insights into sectoral trends and broader economic signals.
