Nifty Auto Index Slips 0.82%: Key Gainers and Losers to Watch

The Nifty Auto index had a rough ride on Thursday, dropping 0.82% during the session amid a weak market. By 11:14 AM IST, the index was down at 23,610.15. It wasn’t all bad news though, with a few stocks managing to stay in the green. MRF Ltd. led the pack with a 0.24% rise, followed by Bosch Ltd. (0.04%), Eicher Motors Ltd. (0.02%), and TVS Motor Company Ltd. (0.01%). On the flip side, Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. took the biggest hit, sliding 1.37%. Other notable losers included Samvardhana Motherson International Ltd. (1.34%), Tata Motors Ltd. (1.31%), Tube Investments of India Ltd. (1.16%), and Ashok Leyland Ltd. (1.16%). The broader market wasn’t faring much better. The Nifty50 was down 88.71 points at 25,052.70, and the BSE Sensex slipped 309.87 points to 82,205.27. Out of the 50 Nifty stocks, only 13 were in positive territory, while 37 struggled. Meanwhile, heavy trading action was seen in stocks like RattanIndia Power, Vodafone Idea, and Reliance Power. Some companies, like Sundaram Finance and Eris Lifesciences, hit fresh 52-week highs, while others like Navkar Builders and BSL Ltd. tumbled to new lows.
