Exciting news for movie buffs and dreamers alike! The International Film City in Yamuna City is officially on its way as the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) has given the green light for the master layout plan. Film producer Boney Kapoor made a special trip to the Yamuna Authority to celebrate this milestone, and with this approval, construction is set to kick off at lightning speed.

Spanning a whopping 230 acres, this film city is going to be huge! Out of that space, 80 acres will be actively developed, while the remaining area will be kept open for filming. It’s like a playground for filmmakers! Groundbreaking is expected to happen on June 27, so mark your calendars.

Located in sector 21, the film city will not just be about studios but will also feature a 26-acre green belt. That’s right—nature will have its own slice within the movie magic. Additionally, 54 acres will house film studios and even a university dedicated to all things shooting-related. Talk about a one-stop shop for aspiring filmmakers! This initiative is not just about filming; it will also bring significant development to Greater Noida and Yamuna City, helping people turn their dreams into reality. And let’s not forget, Asia’s largest Noida International Airport is also in the works nearby!

Interestingly, the map had a bit of a rocky start. When Kapoor and the Bhutani Group first submitted their plans, the Yamuna Authority turned it down due to some issues, including green belt requirements. But fear not! All the concerns have been addressed, and the plan has now been successfully approved.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has been a strong supporter of this project, mentioning it in countless meetings. He’s even noted that Uttar Pradesh could soon be the go-to place for film production, akin to Mumbai. After formally acquiring the film city back in February, this newfound approval means we could see shooting begin in just a year or two.

What’s more? This film city will include special features like a helicopter runway for aerial shots! Imagine capturing those dramatic scenes right from the sky. They’ll also build replicas of iconic locations like Parliament, seaside areas, and sound stages to elevate the filming experience.

As we celebrate the first phase’s 80 acres getting the thumbs up, preparations for the second phase are already underway. YES! They’re looking to pass a map for an additional 150 acres soon. After making the necessary adjustments, the construction team will present their updated plan. Big things are coming!

In the words of Dr. Arun Vir Singh, CEO of Yamuna Authority, this green belt will be the first priority, ensuring our future productions thrive in a vibrant setting. Get ready, everyone, because this film city is about to transform the landscape of cinema in Uttar Pradesh!
