In light of escalating hostilities between Israel and Iran, the Indian Embassy in Tel Aviv has taken action by issuing an urgent advisory to Indian nationals in the region. This advisory calls for citizens to remain vigilant, avoid unnecessary movement, and adhere to local safety instructions.
The embassy’s warning comes after Israel carried out significant airstrikes on Iran early Friday morning, raising concerns over a potential wider regional conflict.
In a message shared on social media, the Indian mission emphasized the critical need for caution. It encouraged Indian citizens currently residing or traveling in Israel to stay alert and follow the safety protocols set forth by Israeli authorities and the home front command.
“In view of the prevailing situation in the region, all Indian nationals in Israel are advised to stay vigilant and adhere to the safety protocols as advised by the Israeli authorities and home front command. Please exercise caution, avoid unnecessary travel within the country, and stay close to safety shelters,” the Embassy of India stated in a post on X.
Additionally, Indian nationals were urged to keep themselves informed through official channels and to maintain communication with the embassy in case of emergencies.
This advisory comes in the wake of Israel declaring a special state of emergency following what it termed a “preemptive strike” on Iran. The situation remains tense with reported explosions in Tehran and increased security measures throughout Israel.
These military actions reflect the mounting concerns regarding Tehran’s nuclear program, which is viewed as a threat to Israeli national security.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has stated that Israel has initiated a targeted military operation aimed at neutralizing the Iranian threat to the nation’s survival. In his remarks, he underscored the seriousness of the military operations, asserting, “This operation will take as long as is needed to complete the task of fending off the threat of annihilation against us.”
Israeli Defence Minister Israel Katz supported this position, describing the attacks as a preemptive strike meant to counter imminent threats. He also announced the state of emergency across Israel to bolster national preparedness and ensure civilian safety.
