Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Tejashwi Yadav didn’t hold back in his criticism of Bihar’s ruling NDA alliance, delivering sharp allegations that have stirred political tensions. The former Deputy Chief Minister and current Leader of the Opposition claimed that one engine of the NDA is steeped in crime, while another is mired in corruption. His words have added fuel to an already heated political climate in the state.
Speaking to the media, Yadav accused central investigative agencies like the CBI, ED, and Income Tax department of being weaponized against opposition leaders. “One engine of theirs is engaged in crime, and another in corruption; these people are not the ones to give any account,” he said. “These people will work to hide the corruption. CBI, ED, Income Tax are made for opposition leaders, not for these people.” His remarks reflect growing frustrations within opposition ranks as Bihar gears up for assembly elections later this year.
The RJD leader didn’t stop there. He also seized upon reported clashes within the NDA, specifically referencing a recent altercation between Deputy CM Vijay Sinha and Ashok Chaudhary during a meeting. “Why did the fight between Vijay Sinha and Ashok Chaudhary happen in the NDA meeting?” Yadav questioned. “When ministers themselves are accusing each other, just imagine how much loot is happening in Bihar.”
Yadav’s comments didn’t spare the Deputy CMs either, as he took a swipe at the rising crime rates in the state. “Corruption has increased so much, and everyone is seeing the rampage of criminals,” he quipped. “The criminals have become Vijay and Samrat,” a direct reference to Deputy CMs Vijay Sinha and Samrat Choudhary. His pointed jabs underscore the deepening rift between Bihar’s ruling alliance and the opposition as the election season nears.
Adding to the drama, former Chief Minister Rabri Devi made explosive claims earlier in the day, alleging a conspiracy to assassinate Tejashwi Yadav. During a protest outside the Assembly, she said, “4 attempts were made to kill Tejashwi Yadav, and his life is in danger… The BJP and JD(U) are the ones conspiring.” These allegations, if not substantiated, could further escalate political hostilities in the state.
Deputy CM Vijay Sinha, however, dismissed the claims, assuring security while taunting the RJD. “Those who think they are not safe, they should give it in writing, though they have complete security,” he retorted. “They have the facilities of two former CMs and are still afraid. The entire Bihar is scared of their own people.” Sinha’s remarks highlight the bitter back-and-forth that has come to define Bihar’s political discourse.
With elections looming, the war of words shows no signs of cooling down. The Election Commission of India has yet to announce official polling dates, but the stage is already set for a fiercely contested battle. As accusations fly from both sides, Bihar’s voters are left to navigate a landscape where crime, corruption, and political vendettas dominate the conversation.
