Mahindra Racing has officially committed as a manufacturer to Formula E’s GEN4 era. This exciting new chapter begins with the 2026/27 season. The announcement solidifies their long-term presence in electric racing.

The commitment extends a partnership dating back to 2013. Mahindra was a founding team and first OEM in Formula E. Their journey has spanned over twelve remarkable years.

They have grown into one of the championship’s standout names. The team boasts five E-Prix victories and 29 podium finishes. Their record includes 11 pole positions and over 1,000 championship points.

This GEN4 commitment ensures their presence until at least 2030. It builds on eighteen transformative months of progress. Under Frederic Bertrand’s leadership, they’ve become regular podium contenders.

The team’s resurgence was fueled by the revolutionary M11Electro. Drivers Nyck de Vries and Edoardo Mortara scored five podiums in Season 11. Their performance secured a stellar fourth-place championship finish.

Today marked the launch of their new M12Electro. This successor aims to maintain their podium-challenging form. The team targets retaining a top-five championship position this season.

Their GEN4 vision focuses on building momentum and chasing marginal gains. They aim to become established World Championship contenders. This puts them against manufacturers like Porsche and Jaguar.

GEN4 specifications promise transformative performance leaps. The cars will feature 450kw peak race power and 600kw ATTACK MODE. These innovations will electrify on-track action.

The technology includes 700kw regenerative braking capabilities. Race energy capacity reaches up to 55kWh. This enables bolder strategic decisions during races.

GEN4 introduces two aerodynamic configurations for different scenarios. The construction uses 100% recyclable materials. This advances Formula E’s position as the most sustainable motorsport.

Mahindra Racing leverages Formula E as an innovation platform. They transfer track learnings to various markets. The intersection of sport and technology drives their progress.

Their commitment extends beyond racing performance. They prioritize innovation alongside sustainability excellence. This dual focus defines their team philosophy.

They earned the FIA’s prestigious Three-Star Accreditation first among teams. Their Planet Positive program drives community and environmental impact. This initiative emphasizes collaboration and accountability.

Chairman R Velusamy highlighted their Race to Road journey. Formula E enables experimentation with electric powertrains and sustainable materials. GEN4 represents an exciting new chapter for Indian mobility leadership.

Team Principal Frederic Bertrand celebrated the team’s fantastic journey. He acknowledged the Mahindra Group’s support and vision. Their collective goal is making India proud on the global automotive stage.
