Trinamool Congress leader Abhishek Banerjee has launched a sharp attack against the Election Commission of India (ECI), accusing it of acting as an extended arm of the BJP to influence upcoming state elections. Speaking to reporters in Kolkata, Banerjee didnt mince words as he criticized the electoral body for allegedly favoring the ruling party.

Banerjee pointed to the ECIs recent special intensive revision of electoral rolls in Bihar as proof of bias. He called it a shame that the commission was helping the BJP gain an unfair advantage. Voting rights are being snatched away from countless people, he claimed, while fake voter IDs are being issued.

The TMC leader revisited past controversies, referencing the 2021 West Bengal Assembly polls where central forces were involved in a deadly shooting in Cooch Behar. His remarks suggest deep distrust in the electoral process under the current commission.

When pressed about allegations of illegal immigrants in Bengal, Banerjee shifted blame squarely onto central authorities. If borders are being breached, its the Home Ministry and BSF who must answer, he stated. His comments reflect ongoing tensions between state and center on security matters.

Banerjee didnt stop at electoral politics. His social media post took a hardline stance against Pakistan, rejecting sporting ties amid ongoing tensions. INDIA MUST NOT ENGAGE WITH PAKISTAN in any sphere, he declared, emphasizing that PoJK remains the only prize worth pursuing.

His fiery rhetoric extended to Pakistans alleged support for terrorism. There is no cricket pitch wide enough to wash off the blood of our martyrs, Banerjee wrote, drawing a firm line between sports and national security. While acknowledging cricketers contributions, he stressed that national pride rests with armed forces, not sports victories.

These parallel criticisms electoral manipulation and national security demonstrate Banerjees strategy of positioning himself as an uncompromising critic of both domestic governance and foreign policy. His dual-pronged approach keeps him in headlines while reinforcing his partys narrative ahead of crucial elections.
