Jan Suraaj Party founder Prashant Kishor addressed a Muslim conference in Bihar’s Kishanganj. He called for an alliance between Muslims and Hindus who do not support the BJP. Kishor emphasized the need for unity to challenge the ruling party. His speech focused on ideological collaboration. He argued that half of Hindus do not vote for the BJP. These Hindus follow Gandhi, Ambedkar, communism, and socialism. Kishor believes joining forces can lead to effective opposition. This partnership is essential for a long battle.
He criticized AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi’s stance. Owaisi suggests Muslims fight alone against the BJP. Kishor disagrees with this isolated approach. He advocates for collective action with ideologically aligned Hindus. Mahatma Gandhi’s ideology is key. Kishor stated it is the only way to defeat RSS ideology. He clarified he is not asking for votes but support. Understanding the source of BJP’s power is crucial. It lies in RSS ideology, not just leaders. Muslims must build an ideological ground. Gandhi’s principles offer the path forward. Kishor addressed past voting patterns. He noted that supporting Nitish Kumar and Lalu Prasad Yadav did not help Muslims. Poverty persists in the community. Representation remains inadequate. Muslims face significant economic challenges. After Dalits, they are the poorest in Bihar. Development has been stagnant for thirty years. Political representation is below what it should be. Only 19 Muslim MLAs exist against a potential 40. Kishor blamed a mindset of fear. Muslims have been discouraged from contesting elections. They are told to support others instead. This has perpetuated their minority status. Politicians have created an environment of fear. Kishor urged the community to overcome this. They must identify true leaders. Otherwise, unjust rulers will continue to dominate. He referenced historical electoral shifts. The BJP gained strength in Bihar over time. Voting decisions have had consequences.
Those without clarity suffer under poor leadership. Kishor addressed his own credibility. He campaigned for Narendra Modi in 2014. But he also worked for those who defeated the BJP later. His efforts span multiple states and years. This includes Bihar, Punjab, and Bengal. The upcoming Bihar elections are critical. They are expected in October or November. The Election Commission has not set a date yet. The NDA alliance aims to retain power. It includes BJP, JD(U), and LJP. The INDIA bloc seeks to oust Nitish Kumar. It comprises RJD, Congress, and left parties. Current assembly numbers favor the NDA. They have 131 members out of 243. The opposition INDIA Bloc has 111 members. Political dynamics are intensely competitive. Kishor’s message is a call to action. Unity and ideology are his central themes. The battle is long but necessary.
