RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav has sparked a political storm with explosive allegations against Vaishali MP Veena Devi, a member of the ruling NDA coalition. According to Yadav, the MP possesses two separate EPIC cards, raising serious questions about electoral integrity.
Sharing purported evidence on social media platform X, Yadav posted screenshots from Bihar’s draft electoral rolls under the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR). Veena Devi, a second-term Lok Sabha member representing Chirag Paswan’s Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas), stands accused of being registered as a voter in multiple constituencies.
The opposition leader claims Devi appears on voting lists for both an assembly segment within her own Lok Sabha constituency and another in Muzaffarpur’s parliamentary constituency. Her husband, JD(U) MLC Dinesh Singh, is also named as spouse in both registrations.
Yadav dropped another bombshell: Devi’s husband allegedly holds duplicate voter cards too. The RJD leader provided specific EPIC card numbers to support his allegations – UT01134543 and GSB1037894 for Devi, and REM0933267 with UT01134527 for her spouse.
What makes these claims particularly explosive? The two cards reportedly show different ages for the MP and originate from separate Lok Sabha constituencies. Yadav questioned how such discrepancies could occur in the Election Commission’s official records without foul play.
The RJD leader didn’t mince words. He demanded answers about how Devi could submit multiple enumeration forms with different signatures during the voter revision process. His social media post framed this as potential electoral manipulation favoring the BJP-NDA alliance.
This isn’t Yadav’s first electoral fraud allegation this week. Just days earlier, he accused Muzaffarpur’s BJP mayor Nirmala Devi and her relatives of similar duplicate voter ID violations. The repeated claims suggest a concerted opposition strategy to highlight alleged irregularities in Bihar’s electoral process.
Yadav’s fiery post posed direct challenges to election authorities. Will the EC acknowledge these purported mistakes? Will they issue notices to Devi’s husband from both constituencies mentioned? These questions strike at the heart of electoral transparency concerns.
The allegations gain significance as Veena Devi represents Chirag Paswan’s LJP faction, a key NDA ally. With Bihar being a crucial political battleground, such claims could influence public perception ahead of future elections. The EC faces mounting pressure to clarify these serious accusations involving multiple elected representatives.
