Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari addressed the media at Niaz Cricket Stadium in Hyderabad, emphasizing the importance of designating the Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) and Majeed Brigade as terrorist outfits. He stated that efforts are underway to secure a similar declaration from the United Nations. Bilawal pointed out that these groups have targeted laborers and poor citizens in Balochistan, making it crucial to cut off their foreign funding sources.

Bilawal also touched on India’s alleged water aggression, accusing the neighboring country of attempting to divert water from the Indus River. He assured that Pakistan would defend its rights over the river, a vital resource for the nation.

The PPP chairman highlighted ongoing infrastructure development in Hyderabad, vowing to undo years of political neglect. He criticized past administrations for ignoring the city due to political discrimination and promoting a divisive agenda. Bilawal affirmed that his party remains committed to public service through development initiatives.

One such project is the Peoples Housing Scheme, which Bilawal described as the world’s largest and Pakistan’s most transparent effort to provide free homes to flood and rain victims from 2022. Over 2.1 million houses are under construction, with beneficiaries receiving full ownership rights. This initiative aligns with the vision of PPP founder Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto, who championed the slogan of roti, kapra aur makan, meaning bread, clothes, and shelter.

The Sindh government has also invested heavily in education, with plans to establish at least one university in every district. Bilawal revealed that the Sindh Assembly’s Public Accounts Committee recovered approximately Rs 20 billion, now being reinvested in provincial development.

Addressing Hyderabad’s needs, Bilawal promised to push for a functional airport in the city, the second largest in Sindh. He also praised the 26th constitutional amendment for ensuring equal representation for judges from all provinces in the constitutional bench.

Water management was another key focus. Bilawal stressed the need to modernize Pakistan’s irrigation systems to combat an impending water crisis. He linked the country’s progress to strong democratic institutions, urging politicians and constitutional bodies to stay within their respective domains while working collectively for national development.

Earlier in the day, Bilawal inaugurated several projects, including the Khan Bahadur Hassan Ali Affandi Park on the Hyderabad bypass. The 14-acre park features urban forestry with 5,000 saplings, walking and cycling tracks, and plans for three open libraries. However, he noted the lack of parking facilities and directed the mayor to address the issue promptly.

The PPP chairman also launched Phase I of the Autobahn road project, covering a 1-kilometer stretch of an eventual 11-kilometer route. A partial ring road near Kotri barrage is also under construction, intended to improve regional connectivity.

Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah and other senior officials attended the events, where Bilawal commended local leaders for their efforts in advancing Hyderabad’s development.
