Defence Minister Rajnath Singh declared in Parliament that India’s defence systems successfully foiled Pakistan’s attack, ensuring no critical assets were damaged. The statement came during a discussion on Operation Sindoor, which was launched on May 7. Precision strikes by Indian forces reportedly targeted nine terrorist infrastructure sites in Pakistan, eliminating over 100 terrorists, trainers, and handlers.
Singh praised the Indian armed forces for their vigilance and efficiency. “Our defence systems, counter-drone measures, and electronic equipment completely neutralized Pakistan’s plans,” he said. “Not a single important asset was harmed. Our security was robust, and we stopped every attack.” The minister highlighted the efforts of the armed forces in countering hostile actions with precision and confidence.
The hostilities escalated on May 10 when Pakistan reportedly used drones, long-range missiles, and electronic warfare technologies to target Indian Air Force bases and military establishments. Despite these attempts, India’s defence mechanisms stood firm. Singh detailed how Indian forces focused solely on self-defence without provocative actions, ensuring minimal collateral damage.
He also urged opposition members to acknowledge the armed forces’ contributions. “At least now, thump your hands to praise our soldiers,” Singh appealed. The minister listed key locations in Pakistan that were targeted, including Chaklala, Sargodha, and Jacobabad, emphasizing the precision and effectiveness of the strikes.
Operation Sindoor was conducted after an in-depth study by the armed forces, aiming to maximize damage to terrorist infrastructure while safeguarding civilians. The entire operation lasted just 22 minutes, showcasing India’s tactical efficiency.
The Lok Sabha witnessed disruptions earlier as opposition MPs created a ruckus, delaying the discussion. However, Singh’s address brought the focus back to the armed forces’ achievements. The world, he said, witnessed the courage and capability of India’s military.
India’s defence preparedness has once again proven its mettle, sending a clear message to adversaries. The successful thwarting of Pakistan’s attack underscores the nation’s unwavering commitment to security and sovereignty.
