Bollywood feuds never get old, do they? A blast from the past is making rounds again, and it involves Kareena Kapoor Khan and Dia Mirza. Let’s rewind to the early 2000s when this drama unfolded.
At a Sahara Group event in Lucknow, actresses like Kareena, Dia, Namrata Shirodkar, and Urmila Matondkar were asked to wear cotton salwar-kameez outfits with the national flag. Simple enough, right? Well, not for Kareena.
She walked in wearing a fancy ghagra-choli with heavy jewellery and no national flag in sight. Dia Mirza later revealed in an old Rediff interview that this didn’t sit well with Namrata. Dia tried to defuse the situation by suggesting Namrata leave quietly to avoid a scene.
But then, boom! Kareena reportedly screamed at Dia, ‘Who the hell are you? Who are you to advise Namrata?’ Dia was so shocked she just left the room.
Surprisingly, things cooled down fast. Within 30 minutes, their shared secretary knocked on Dia’s door, saying Kareena wanted to know if she was ready. Later, Kareena acted like nothing happened.
Dia later reflected, ‘I think Kareena doesn’t realise when she’s being irrational or loud.’ Fans are now digging up this old drama and loving every bit of it.
The good news? Time heals all wounds. Both actresses moved on, starred together in Kurbaan (2009), and even had a heartfelt chat about mental health on Kareena’s radio show. Classic Bollywood, right?
